Monumental

I agree, it's a bit loud, and overdrives.
Other than that, it has substance, atmoshpere, story, buildup, balance, etc that a good song needs. So there's a 5 and a fav. from me. :)

FlaggedOnArrival responds:

I'm glad you like it Kados, it took me a while to get the flow just right for the song, especially for the drums. They pretty much make the song move. On one hand, I agree it's a bit too loud, but on the other hand, I feel that the OD helps in keeping the song from becoming monotonous.

I love getting reviews with both pro's and con's, so TY :)

Omg dissonance XD

As the title suggests, it's simplistic. It could be developed into something of more substance. Sound quality is good, mastering's also all right. But it lacks variety and memorability. The most interesting part was the sample at the end. Could've started with that... XD Some nice sweeps and tweaks, but horrible dissonance at some places.

timpeton responds:

Well, the genre is minimal house, it means it doesn't change much, it's simple ect. Dunno what dissonance means, since i'm not an native english speaker xD Thanks anyway.

Well put together

...but as a guitarist, I like more interesting riffs. :)
So a 4 and a 7 stars for how well it's put together, drum, bass and rhytm guitar, and the smashing clear sound quality.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks dude, yeah, I kept it super simple as there was going to be talking over top. It was more meant for background stuff. No sense wasting complex riffs over background music. haha.

Thanks muchly.

Calming

Really nice, subtle melody side, although I must admit I'd have liked a bit variety on the rhythm side, I gave this a 5, so it can start with a good score :)
9 stars for the beautiful calming overall effect, and good mastering, the one missing star is because of the invariable drum pattern (which is quite good as well :)).
Peace

Quality as usual

I know it's a spring submission, but I hope (and wish) you'll finish it with time... the songs I wrote for example, always took more than a year to complete (including real instrument stuff).

The jazzy feel is perfect, keep it! More saxofone for the masses please. :)
An idea: start out as jazzy, then wander away from it (like between 0:42-1:15), back again (like at the end of this) then wandering away again, and ending jazzy - so it'll be like a frame. 1:17 could already have the drum starting at 1:25, so you'll only have 3 really mellow parts (beginning, middle, end) where natural instruments (oh the saxofone!!! :D) prevail.
The blips - take their volume down a bit, and they should be perfect. You could throw in something messier, more drastic before the end, or a different sounding, slow but pronounced drumbeat for variety, whichever works for you.

Anyways, your work is high quality - I wish you further success. :)

Lately it just feels I've either ran out of creative juice for the time being, or ran out of inspiration... Perhaps both are the same thing. Went through a breakup recently, found out that an other ex of mine, the one I was with the longest (3 years) is now engaged... Blah, I guess that's just life. And I have commitment issues. I guess that's how creative people are, though. Doomed to be miserable by their own hand. I'm starting to realize I'm able to channel more emotion through my music than what I'm actually capable of feeling or experiencing for myself.

Sorry for this horribly long emo ramble. I really appriciate your review!

interesting

Would go well with a rpg. Plus points for the story :D Interesting build up, and I like the constant but gradual change. I'd say, "better than expected" :)

Nice

Cool sounding drums, plus interesting and fun-and-happy melody runs. First half reminds me of a starry midnight sky. I really liked the part from 00:29-1:51, not a long solo at all (but parts like that would happen between 5-min dnb songs). Btw grats on being featured.
On a sidenote, I missed the hardcore bass side (would go well with the hc drum), and other additional instruments.
Peace :)

DM fan :D

Nice and balanced sounds (bells, drums, piano) and a very good idea, I love this song.
I know I know, it's in progress... will be a blast when it's done, I'm sure. :)

z-bombed

I really can't imagine why you think it would be beneficial to the world, if what you wrote happened. So I hope you die in a fire.

As for the music, it portrays your description well (I even lol'd at how much) so let's stick to analyzing that.
Pros:
- Interesting tones and effects (although I smell huge built-ins, but can't tell)
- Good equalization, decent mastering

Cons:
- Feels like notes are random length at places
- Threatens to fall apart
- no significant modulation, not to mention, you used the same lead rythm and melody in your AsiaFight! song as well
- anyone could produce the same effing triads (for Christ's sake, it feels like you randomly chose some notes, and permutated them in fixed consonant intervals)

Other than that, it's perfect.

relaxing

Its strongest point is its weakest - so laid back and relaxed, that it misses some moments. It's like floating on water - you don't really swim, but move nonetheless.

From a technical side, pros are:
Small but cool background noises, sweeps, tweaks whatnots :)
Gentleness and balance sustained throughout (very sweat!)
That woman's voice, though I personally don't like this kind of sampling solution
Good effects overally

Cons (and advices):
Drums sound cool, but stand out too much - they're loud compared to all the others. They kinda "beat away" the "sitting on the seashore with your girlfriend, watching sunset" feeling :)
Watch out for octaves, they can be overused - maybe it's just personal, but I associate it with wannabe guitarists, who don't know what to play other than quints and octaves. :D

Overally, a sweat, lovable song. Oh and note, that it's just my opinion, so it's not the song's fault, but mine! :D
Peace
